Born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota, Kevin Bjork spent his summers playing baseball and exploring the Zumbro River with his mixed breed spaniel. He met his wife Evelyn at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota where he was a wildlife biology major. Two years later, he began medical school at the University of Minnesota, followed by a residency in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic.
He and Evelyn settled in Stillwater, Minnesota, where they raised their four boys, and where he has been practicing general surgery since 1990. A past president of the Minnesota Surgical Society and co-founder of the Metro Mercenaries Rugby Football Club and the Moosehead Wide Open Charity Golf Tournament, Kevin is currently serving on the board of Hospitalito Atitlan in Santiago de Atitlan in Guatemala where he has led surgical mission trips for over twenty years.
